How to Share a Playlist on Apple Music with anyone?

Sharing playlists is a great way to introduce your favorite music to friends. Apple Music allows you to share playlists through social media, Messages, or a link. Note that the people you share a playlist with will also need an Apple Music subscription to listen to your shared playlist.

How to share an Apple Music playlist with your friends?

Share Apple Music Playlists on your iPhone, iPad, or iPod touch

  1. Open the Apple Music app.
  2. Tap the playlist you want to share.
  3. Tap the three-dot icon at the top-right, then Share Playlist….
  4. Choose from the options like AirDrop, Messages, Mail, and simply copy the link.

Share Apple Music Playlists on Mac and Windows

  1. Run the Apple Music app on macOS or the iTunes app on Windows.
  2. Click to open the playlist you want to share.
  3. Click the three-dot icon at the top-right, then Share Playlist.
  4. Choose from the options.

When you share an Apple Music playlist via link, recipients can open the playlist with any browser and listen to the songs once they log in.

If you haven’t set up your Apple Music profile you may need to do that first. To do that, go to your “Listen Now” page on Apple Music, hit the Face button on upper right and follow prompts.

Recipients can open your shared link in browser and preview any songs. To enjoy full songs, an Apple Music subscription is required.

How to see what friends are listening to in Apple Music?

Apple Music allows you to see what your friends are listening to and your friends can also see what you’re listening to. But first you need to create a profile.

  1. Open the Apple Music app.
  2. Tap Listen Now.
  3. In the upper-right corner of the Listen Now screen:
    • On your iPhone, iPad, or iPod touch, tap the photo icon the photo icon.
    • On your Android device, tap the More button the More button, then tap Account.
  4. Tap Set up Profile.
  5. Follow the onscreen prompts to create a username, find and follow friends, share playlists, and more.
  6. Tap Done.

To see and play music that your friends are sharing, go to Listen Now, then scroll down to Friends Are Listening To.

To see a specific friend’s profile, go to your profile, then tap their photo under Followers or Following. From here, you can see their shared playlists and what they’re listening to.
